Wall art that teaches

My National Animal started with a simple question from a family living far from home: how do you explain to a three-year-old where she comes from? The answer became an educational print: one animal, one flag, one country, one word, learned the way children learn best, by looking at it every day.

A flag is abstract. A map is too big. But an animal is something a child already loves. So we illustrate each country’s national animal in a soft watercolor storybook style, dress it in the colors of its flag, and write the country’s name and the animal’s name in the language the family actually speaks.

The result is a print that works on three levels: it teaches four real things at a glance, it looks beautiful in a child’s room, and it keeps a family’s story alive on the wall every single day.

What a child learns from one print

  • The national animal, the officially recognized one, with a true fact in every product description.
  • The flag, woven into the animal so its colors become familiar without a lesson.
  • The country’s name, big and clear, often among the first words a child learns to read.
  • The animal’s name in the family’s language: English, Spanish, German, French, Italian or Portuguese.
